Overture down again + rant

It’s Thursday night and I’m staring into a seriously depressing white space.
The space where thousands of other online entrepreneurs also found themselves over the past two weeks…and still do.
…
It’s Overtures keyword results. It’s just blank. No data, nothing, nada, zilch.
While I’m thinking about Yahoo’s poor effort to support this tool, I started to realize that there must be hundreds of companies losing big money due to Overture being down. I’m talking about individuals or companies that developed keyword tools that query Overture’s database.
I mean I have several keyword tools on my PC.
Good Keywords
The Dowser Pro
Keyword Elite
…to mention only a few.
Now I really don’t care if the software guys lose money, but Overture being down has put the end-consumer in a worse place. Read on and you’ll understand what I mean.
These software owners were smart enough to keep the overture research feature intact, but also to include Wordtracker and Keyword Discovery in their software. Meaning that whenever Overture does work, the user will be able use all the features at hand, but when Overture is down…the user has to use wordtracker or keyword discovery.
Something is wrong with this picture though. You know why?
Because 90% of these softwares don’t have the free wordtracker tool implemented. Users have to be a member of sites like wordtracker or keyword discovery for them to use all the features of the software. The software owners say they incorporated the wordtracker and keyworddiscovery features for your benefit. I don’t think it’s beneficial at all. Most of these desktop keyword tools only bring back the amount of searches, competition and the amount of Google Adwords ads. There are some pretty awesome free services like this one which can bring back some pretty analytical stuff no desktop keyword tool can do. The software guys are ripping you off period.
You end up paying for software that’s basically only 50% operational and then you have to pay even more money for the other 50% (which is wordtracker or keyworddiscovery). You end up paying a bucket full of money to do some proper research. That’s a pretty rotten deal if you ask me.
Luckily for me, I made one hell of a good decision a year ago. And that was to join Nichebot.
It’s the best investment that I have ever made towards a keyword tool. Now for those of you who don’t know Nichebot , it’s not a application. It’s a online research facility which you pay for on a monthly basis.
The reason behind my purchase was not the cheap price, nor was it their enticing sales letter…it was their amazing features.
The guys over at Nichebot works on a "credit system". You buy let’s say 50 credits for like $8 and then you can use 1 credit to pull up to 1000 keywords. That’s impressive.
But here is the real juice about their service:
They incorporate…wait for it….waaaiiit for it….Wordtracker, Keyword Discovery, Google AND Yahoo!
That is bloody amazing in my books. I feel like a keyword research zen master when I’m behind the cockpit of nichebot. It f-ing rocks.
You should definitely get yourself some of their magic keyword research power.
It’s the best thing I ever did.
To end my post…
Here’s a teaser question…why on earth then did I go to overture’s keyword tool to do research there?
Maybe I’m going insane. That happens to online marketers.

The Overture Keyword Bid Tool
Can anybody tell me where the hell one can get another tool for checking keyword bids?
I use my own strategies for this such as using the Google Adwords tool to check the average bids, but isn’t there some company which has a relation to Google or Yahoo! search marketing so that we can check the bids of keywords??
I’m wondering why Yahoo took their tool down. Is it because they want to STEAL more money?
Looks to me like it, cause without knowing what you are up against, you first have to throw away some money before you can make some. This is especially a problem when it comes to Adsense Arbitrage.
Has anybody got an alternative resource that one can use??
