Theme Update - Almost Done
As I mentioned in a previous post. I was going to change the theme of Mr-Review.com
I always LOVED magazine styled themes, but the only problem is that most of them are not very flexible to people who aren’t expert coders. I’m no expert coder.
A graphic design buddy of mine pointed me to One Theme, the “most intuitive theme engine ever created for the wordpress community.”
Now to fully understand a statement like that, you need to know what actually runs this “One Theme” you are seeing here.
It’s known as the “One Panel“. It’s a very unique yet immensely powerful plugin that literally operates your entire theme. Even it’s design is puppeteer-ed by the plugin.
Here’s some of the cool things I have done to the blog. Keep in mind it took me about one hour.
- Changing header graphics and footer imagery with a simple few uploads via One Panel.
- Added my feedburner username and it created the subscribe box you see on the right.
- Clicked a couple of buttons in One Panel and it added ALL the cool bookmarking and subscription service buttons to all my posts.
- Automatically generated thumbnails for the posts I chose! (That’s the coolest thing ever.)
- A few drop down boxes and I ended up having featured categories Magazine style!
I’m not a One-Theme affiliate, I wish I could be (paypal isn’t my buddy) so I unbiasedly recommend this if you are looking for a solid professional looking theme with GREAT features. There are a lot of stuff I haven’t even mentioned.
I’m not done yet. I’m outsourcing a professional header design as well.
